Both Hondas have step-through frames and foot-shift gearboxes, but they were designed for different lives. The Wave RSX is a commuter tuned for economy; the CT125 is an adventure-styled Cub with the highest ground clearance in Honda Vietnam’s current underbone range. All figures below come from Honda Vietnam’s official pages (retrieved 23 September 2026).
The core difference
The Wave RSX is 109.2 cc, air-cooled with PGM-FI injection, 6.46 kW at 7,500 rpm and a four-speed rotary gearbox. The CT125 is 123.9 cc, air-cooled, 6.76 kW at 6,250 rpm, a four-speed gearbox, and built tall: 800 mm seat, 165 mm ground clearance and 80/90-17 tyres at both ends.

What it means on the road
The Wave RSX wins the city argument: 760 mm seat, 98 kg and the lowest claimed fuel consumption of the two make it effortless in dense traffic. The CT125 wins the rough-road argument: its 165 mm of clearance and torque peaked low at 4,750 rpm are made for broken pavement, kerbs and gravel lanes. The CT125 also carries 1.4 litres more fuel, giving it the longer range between fills - the trade is 19 extra kilos and a seat 40 mm higher.
Which one for you?
If your riding is 95 percent paved Hanoi streets, the Wave RSX does the same job for a third of the CT125’s list price. If you regularly face unpaved lanes, flooded alleys or want one bike that can leave the city on weekends, the CT125 is the only one of the two built for it.
