Wheelbase and ground clearance are the geometry numbers that decide how a bike behaves before you even start the engine. Honda publishes both for its whole underbone range (retrieved 23 September 2026); Yamaha publishes dimensions but no clearance for the Sirius and Exciter.
The verified wheelbase ladder
Winner R: 1,277 mm. CBR150R: 1,312 mm. Future 125 FI and CT125: 1,258 mm. Super Cub C125: 1,243 mm. Wave RSX: 1,227 mm. Wave Alpha: 1,224 mm. Blade: 1,217 mm.
Wheelbase: the trade
A long wheelbase buys straight-line stability and calm two-up behaviour - the CBR150R’s 1,312 mm is a highway number. A short wheelbase buys agility: the Blade’s 1,217 mm is why underbones u-turn in gaps that defeat bigger bikes. Hanoi riding rewards the short end; touring rewards the long end.
Ground clearance: the Vietnamese number
Blade: 141 mm. CT125: 165 mm. Winner R: 153 mm. CBR150R: 151 mm. Wave RSX: 135 mm. Super Cub: 136 mm. Future 125: 133 mm. Wave Alpha: 134 mm. The CT125’s 165 mm - highest in Honda’s listed range - is what makes it the flooded-street and gravel-track machine; our potholes and flooded-streets guides cover exactly the conditions clearance decides. The commuter classics cluster at 133-135 mm, which is fine for tarmac and kerbs but scrape early on broken rural roads.
Choosing
City-only riders can ignore clearance; anyone heading to the mountains should read it before anything else. The rental classes here (Wave and Sirius, 150,000 VND/day) sit in the 134 mm-and-under city zone - plan rough routes accordingly and contact us to confirm current availability of a specific model.
