Yamaha sells three scooters on the same 155.1 cc Blue Core VVA engine - the NMAX, the NVX and the Lexi - and the sharpest internal choice is between the NVX’s aggressive value package and the Lexi’s comfort-first layout. All figures are from Yamaha Vietnam’s official pages (retrieved 23 September 2026).

Same engine, same numbers

Both publish 11.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm from the liquid-cooled VVA engine. There is no performance case between them - the choice is chassis and mission. How VVA varies valve timing and lift is dedicated explainer.

Chassis and comfort

The Lexi is the comfort commuter: 118 kg wet, a low 768 mm seat, 14-inch wheels at both ends and a long 1,353 mm wheelbase for stability - our wheelbase guide explains why that matters on rough streets. The NVX is the sport bike of the pair: 125 kg, 790 mm seat, a fat 140/70-14 rear tyre and sharper steering.

Storage and tank

The NVX’s 25-litre underseat bay beats the Lexi’s unlisted bay on the retrieved page (the Lexi page did not publish a storage figure, so we do not quote one). The Lexi’s small 4.2-litre tank is its one real compromise versus the NVX’s 5.5 litres - fuel-range planning matters more on the Lexi; see our longest-range scooters guide for how to think about tank times economy.

Price

Yamaha lists the Lexi 155 VVA-ABS from 48,500,000 VND (48,900,000 VND for the version shown) and the NVX 155 VVA ABS at 55,300,000 VND. The Lexi is the comfort-and-value pick; the NVX charges more for attitude and storage.

Verdict

Ride far, two-up, on mixed roads: Lexi. Ride hard, carry more, want the sporty look: NVX. Cross-check both against the NMAX in our NMAX vs NVX and Lexi vs NMAX comparisons. Neither is a price-published Nguyen Tu rental model - contact us to confirm current availability.
