Most underbones in Vietnam cost under 30 million VND. Then there are the two Hondas that do not: the Super Cub C125 (88,353,813 VND) and the CT125 (85,997,455 VND) - both list prices from Honda VN pages retrieved 23 September 2026. Both are more expensive than the sportier CBR150R. So who are they for?
The Super Cub C125: the lifestyle purchase
123.9 cc, air-cooled, 6.87 kW, four-speed semi-automatic, 109 kg, 1.55 L/100 km, 780 mm seat. On data alone it is outgunned per dong by the Future 125. What you are buying is the finish, the heritage styling and the fact that this is the best-selling motor vehicle design in history, sold new in Vietnam. It makes sense for riders who keep a bike for years, care how it looks parked outside a cafe, and want the easiest possible gearbox.
The CT125: the capability purchase
123.9 cc, 10.9 Nm at just 4,750 rpm, 165 mm ground clearance - the highest of Honda’s listed underbones - 800 mm seat, 5.4-litre tank, rear rack, 80/90-17 tyres both ends. It makes sense for riders whose routes regularly include gravel, broken rural tarmac or track days of a different kind. Our CT125 review and its comparison with the Super Cub cover the details.
What premium does not buy
Not speed: both are slower than a 46-million-VND Winner R. Not economy: the 30-million Future 125 beats both. Premium underbones are about design and capability, not value-per-watt.
