Both of these are Hondas with the same underbone silhouette, and both shift through four gears without a clutch lever. But the Wave RSX costs 25,664,727 VND and the Super Cub C125 costs 88,353,813 VND (Honda VN list prices, retrieved 23 September 2026). What does three and a half times the money actually buy?

Engines

Super Cub C125: 123.9 cc, air-cooled, 6.87 kW at 7,500 rpm, 10.15 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Wave RSX: 109.2 cc, air-cooled with PGM-FI, 6.46 kW at 7,500 rpm, 8.70 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The Cub is the stronger engine, but not dramatically - you are buying finish and heritage as much as performance.

Economy

This is close: Honda publishes 1.55 L/100 km for the Cub and 1.56 L/100 km for the RSX. The RSX holds 4.0 litres, the Cub 3.7 litres, so touring range is similar. Manufacturer figures, real world varies.

Size and storage

Cub: 780 mm seat, 109 kg, 1,910 mm long. RSX: 760 mm seat, 98 kg, 1,922 mm. The RSX’s U-box takes one half helmet and uses a 4-in-1 key; Honda lists no storage for the Cub beyond its classic front luggage hook aesthetic. The RSX is 11 kg lighter and easier to wrangle in Old Quarter alleys.

Which one?

As transport, the RSX is the rational buy - our RSX review covers why. The Cub is a lifestyle statement with global heritage and premium finish, closer to a scooter price than an underbone price. Rental counters rarely stock the Cub; the Wave class is our price-published 150,000 VND/day group - contact us to confirm current availability of any specific model. If the Cub tempts you but the price does not, the CT125 comparison with the Cub is worth reading.
