The Sirius has been Yamaha’s Vietnamese workhorse for more than two decades - the page Yamaha publishes today notes the model has been on sale in Vietnam for over 20 years. It is the natural rival to Honda’s Wave and Blade, and one of the two semi-automatic classes we publish rental pricing for. All figures below come from the official Yamaha Motor Vietnam Sirius RC product page (retrieved 23 September 2026).

Engine and gearbox

The Sirius runs a 110.3 cc single-cylinder four-stroke SOHC engine, air-cooled, producing 5.9 kW at 8,000 rpm and 9.0 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Power reaches the rear wheel through a four-speed rotary gearbox with a wet, multi-plate centrifugal clutch - the same no-clutch-lever semi-automatic principle as its Honda rivals, and our semi-automatic versus automatic comparison covers what that means in daily riding.

Economy and weight

Yamaha publishes 2.08 litres per 100 km from a 4. 2-litre tank, and the bike weighs 100 kg wet. Dimensions are 1,890 x 665 x 1,035 mm - compact and narrow, which is the Sirius’s real strength in lane-splitting traffic. Wheels are 17-inch, 70/90-17 front and 80/90-17 rear, both with inner tubes.

Three versions, one platform

Yamaha sells the Sirius in three versions: drum brake, front disc, and the RC alloy-wheel version with a front hydraulic disc and rear drum. The RC version lists at 21,993,000 VND (retrieved 23 September 2026; prices change). Headlights across the range are halogen HS-1 35 W units. Choose the disc or RC version if you ride in dense traffic every day.

Who it suits

Students, commuters and delivery riders who want a light, narrow, cheap-to-run underbone, and learners who want the simplest possible gearbox. It goes head-to-head with the Honda Wave Alpha and Blade - this hub carries full reviews of both.
