A three-year warranty sounds simple until you read the exclusions. Here is what the verified manufacturer pages actually publish for Vietnamese-market scooters (retrieved 23 September 2026) - and what the words mean for an owner.

What is verified

Yamaha publishes a 3-year or 30,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) for its scooter range - stated on the pages for the Janus 125, FreeGo 125, Latte 125, NVX 155 and Lexi 155 among the models we verified. Honda’s product pages in our retrieval did not publish warranty terms alongside the Vision, Vario, SH Mode and SH160i specifications - not because no coverage exists, but because the pages we verified do not state it, so we do not quote a number. Verify Honda coverage with the dealer at purchase.

How the limits work

“3 years or 30,000 km, whichever first” means the commuter who rides 12,000 km a year reaches the kilometre limit in 30 months, not 36 - the warranty ends at the earlier milestone. Delivery riders hit kilometric limits long before calendar ones.

What warranties exclude

Published coverage is against manufacturing defects. Exclusions typically cover wear items (tyres, brake pads, bulbs), damage from accidents or improper use, and - critically for the modifying community - changes from non-genuine parts and accessories, which our aftermarket warranty article covers in detail. Dealer service history also matters; our warranty and dealer service guide covers the maintenance-side obligations.

For renters

None of this applies to you: maintenance support during the rental period is between you and the rental shop, per the rental agreement. Our article on what a rental includes covers typical arrangements - and contact us to confirm current availability and terms for any specific model.
