The Janus is Yamaha Vietnam’s entry scooter and the closest thing the Vision has to a direct rival: same 97 kg weight class, same city-first mission, undercutting most competitors on price - Yamaha lists the Janus from 29,151,000 VND (manufacturer’s suggested retail, retrieved 23 September 2026). All figures below come from Yamaha Vietnam’s official Janus product page.

Official figures: maximum power 7.0 kW at 8,000 rpm, maximum torque 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm, and published fuel consumption of 1.98 litres/100 km from a 4.2-litre tank. For class context, see our scooter fuel economy comparison and our 110cc vs 125cc explainer.

Kerb weight 97 kg - tied with the Vision as the lightest in our comparison group and covered in our guide to light motorbikes for new riders. Seat height 770 mm, dimensions 1,850 x 705 x 1,120 mm, wheelbase 1,260 mm, ground clearance 135 mm. Yamaha fits tubeless tyres (80/80-14 front, 100/70-14 rear - narrower rubber explained in our scooter tyre sizes guide), a hydraulic front disc with rear drum brake, and a 15.3-litre underseat bay plus a USB charging port on current versions. Who it suits

Budget-conscious commuters, students and new riders who want a 125-class engine at close to 110-class pricing. Its limit is storage and top-end comfort - for a bigger bay and more touring ability, see our Janus vs FreeGo comparison.
