The Vario 125 is the newest member of Honda’s mainstream 125 cc scooter range in Vietnam, and it arrives with a specification list that used to belong to more expensive models: liquid cooling, smart key, USB-C and idling stop. Every figure below is from the official Honda Vietnam Vario 125 product page (retrieved 23 September 2026); anything not published there is omitted rather than estimated.
Engine and performance
The engine is a 125 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled eSP unit with PGM-FI fuel injection, meeting the EURO 4 emissions standard. Honda lists maximum power at 8.48 kW at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque at 11.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm. Honda also equips idling stop, which shuts the engine at long stops to cut noise and fuel use - useful in Hanoi’s endless red-light queues. Honda says the 5.5-litre tank is good for about 260 km per fill under normal operating conditions; real-world range varies with load, traffic and riding style.
Size, weight and comfort
Honda publishes a kerb weight of 111 kg, seat height 769 mm, dimensions 1,919 x 687 x 1,075 mm, wheelbase 1,280 mm and ground clearance 131 mm. The combination of low seat and light weight makes it one of the easier 125s to manage for newer riders - compare kerb weights across models in our verified weight table.
Brakes
The Vario 125 uses a wavy front disc with a combined braking system (CBS) rather than ABS; Honda positions ABS higher up its range. Our guide to which scooters have ABS in Vietnam explains the difference between CBS and ABS and why it matters in the wet.
Features and practicality
Standard equipment includes a smart key, LCD instrument panel, USB-C port in the front box, full LED lighting and 18 litres of underseat storage - enough for a half helmet plus everyday items, covered in our underseat storage comparison.
Who it suits
City commuters, students and first-time automatic riders who want a modern, light scooter with premium features at a mainstream price. Honda’s list price is 41,913,818 VND for the versions shown on the page. Its closest rivals are the Yamaha Latte 125 (style-first) and the Honda Lead 125 (storage-first) - both compared in dedicated articles.
