The Wave Alpha and the CT125 are both Hondas with step-through frames - and that is where the similarity ends. One is the cheapest new underbone on Honda Vietnam’s price list; the other is a tall, trail-styled Cub that costs more than four times as much. All figures below are from Honda Vietnam’s official pages (retrieved 23 September 2026).
The core difference
The Wave Alpha 110 is 109.2 cc, air-cooled, 6.12 kW at 7,500 rpm, with a four-speed rotary gearbox and a 3.7-litre tank. The CT125 is 123.9 cc, air-cooled, 6.76 kW at 6,250 rpm, a four-speed gearbox, a 5.4-litre tank, an 800 mm seat and 165 mm of ground clearance - the highest in Honda Vietnam’s current underbone line-up.

What it means on the road
The Wave Alpha is the lightest bike in the verified range at 96 kg, and its 1.72 L/100 km claim is honest, simple transport. The CT125 is 21 kg heavier, 30 mm taller at the seat, and shaped for lanes that the Wave Alpha would rather avoid - its 165 mm clearance and 80/90-17 tyres front and rear swallow kerbs, gravel and broken pavement.
Note the character difference in the power delivery: the Wave Alpha peaks at 7,500 rpm; the CT125 delivers its 10.9 Nm low at 4,750 rpm, which is exactly what you want when crawling over rough ground.
Which one for you?
If your riding is city commuting on maintained roads, the Wave Alpha wins on every number that matters to a daily rider, and costs a quarter as much. If your routes include construction zones, rural lanes or you simply want one bike for city and weekend trails, the CT125 is the only Honda underbone built for it.
