This is the rivalry that defines Vietnam’s 150-class: Honda’s full-fairing CBR150R against Yamaha’s naked sport underbone Exciter 155 VVA. Both are manual-clutch machines for confident riders. All figures are manufacturer-published (retrieved 23 September 2026).
Engines
CBR150R: 149.2 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC four-valve, 12.6 kW at 9,000 rpm, 14.4 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Exciter 155 VVA: 155 cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC four-valve with VVA and EFI, 13.2 kW at 9,500 rpm, 14.4 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Identical torque, slightly different power peaks - the Exciter revs higher for its peak, the CBR’s DOHC head is the more sophisticated valvetrain (our SOHC-versus-DOHC theme is covered in the spec explainers).
Weight and bodywork
CBR150R: 139 kg, full fairing, 788 mm seat, 12-litre tank. Exciter: 123 kg wet, naked underbone styling, 5.4 litres. The CBR carries nearly twice the fuel - real touring range - but weighs 16 kg more and is wider to filter with.
Economy
CBR150R: 2.91 L/100 km. Exciter: 2.07 L/100 km. The fairing and rev-happy engine cost fuel; manufacturer figures, real use varies.
Prices
CBR150R: 72,290,000 VND list. Exciter: 55,200,000 VND (limited ABS Monster version). Neither is price-published at our rental counter - contact us to confirm current availability. Choose the CBR for highway stability, range and supersport looks; choose the Exciter for city filtering, lighter handling and cheaper running.
