The step from a 110 to a 125 is the most common upgrade question in Vietnam. Since Honda publishes complete specs for both classes (retrieved 23 September 2026), the answer can be entirely numerical.
Class against class
| Spec | 110 class (Wave RSX) | 125 class (Future 125 FI) |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 109.2 cc | 124.9 cc |
| Max power | 6.46 kW @ 7,500 rpm | 6.83 kW @ 7,500 rpm |
| Max torque | 8.70 Nm @ 6,000 rpm | 10.2 Nm @ 5,500 rpm |
| Fuel tank | 4.0 L | 4.6 L |
| Claimed economy | 1.56 L/100 km | 1.47 L/100 km |
| Kerb weight | 98 kg | 104 kg |
| Seat height | 760 mm | 756 mm |
| List price | 25,664,727 VND | from 30,622,909 VND |
Both are four-speed rotary semi-automatics; real-world economy varies with speed, load and conditions.
What the numbers say
The 125 is not faster in any way a city rider feels - 0.37 kW is noise. The real difference is torque: 10.2 Nm versus 8.70 Nm, arriving 500 rpm lower. That is passenger-carrying and headwind performance, and it is the honest reason to upgrade.
Surprisingly, the bigger engine is also the more economical: the Future’s 1.47 L/100 km claim is the best in the entire verified range, and its 4.6-litre tank is the biggest practical tank too.
The costs of the step up: about 5 million dong minimum, and 6 kg.
The style answer
If those numbers do not describe your riding, Honda’s other 125s - the Super Cub C125 (88.4 million VND) and CT125 (86 million VND) - sell design and capability, not torque. The 110 class remains the rational default for solo commuters.
