Yamaha Vietnam’s two headline underbones mark the two steps of a riding life: the Sirius RC 110 that carries the country to work, and the Exciter 155 VVA that carries it fast on weekends. Both specifications are from Yamaha’s own pages (retrieved 23 September 2026).
Engines and gearboxes
Sirius RC: 110.3 cc, SOHC, air-cooled, 5.9 kW at 8,000 rpm, 9.0 Nm at 5,000 rpm, four-speed rotary with a wet centrifugal clutch - no clutch lever. Exciter 155 VVA: 155 cc, SOHC four-valve, liquid-cooled with VVA variable valve timing and EFI, 13.2 kW at 9,500 rpm, 14.4 Nm at 8,000 rpm, six-speed with Assist and Slipper clutch. The jump is enormous: more than double the power and a completely different skill requirement.
Weight and brakes
Sirius: 100 kg wet, front hydraulic disc (RC version) and rear drum, tubed tyres. Exciter: 123 kg wet, discs front and rear, ABS on limited versions, tubeless tyres. The Exciter’s two discs are meaningful at Vietnamese roundabout speeds; our disc-versus-drum guide covers why.
Economy
Sirius: 2.08 L/100 km, 4.2-litre tank. Exciter: 2.07 L/100 km, 5.4 litres - remarkably similar thirst despite double the performance. Manufacturer figures; real use varies.
Rental reality
The Sirius class is one of our two price-published rental groups at 150,000 VND per day. The Exciter is not price-published - contact us to confirm current availability. Most visitors should rent the Sirius format and enjoy the Exciter as a future goal; if you already ride a clutch well, our Exciter versus Winner R comparison is the next read.
