The NMAX is Yamaha’s flagship; the Air Blade 160 is Honda’s street-smart 160. Both are premium-ish sporty commuters, and the verified figures (retrieved 23 September 2026) make the trade-offs unusually clear.
Power
Yamaha lists the NMAX’s Blue Core 155.1 cc VVA engine at 11.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Honda’s Air Blade 160 page in our retrieval did not publish output figures for the current model, so none are quoted here - what is verified is the 156.9 cc liquid-cooled engine with a coolant temperature warning, smart key and LCD meter. On the road both are strong city performers; the NMAX’s figures are published, the Air Blade’s are not.
Safety hardware
The NMAX has ABS on both wheels plus traction control. The Air Blade 160’s retrieved page did not publish a brake specification, so we do not claim one - check the specific version and our ABS guide before buying. This is exactly the kind of equipment gap worth verifying on the dealer floor.
Weight and wheels
The Air Blade is the lighter, sharper-handling package at 113 kg with 16-inch-class sporty styling. The NMAX carries 131 kg with 13-inch wheels and a plush two-level seat. Shorter riders will manage the NMAX’s 770 mm seat easily; the Air Blade’s published seat figure was not in our retrieval.
Storage and price
NMAX: 24 litres underseat, 7.1-litre tank, 69,000,000 VND list. Air Blade 160: USB-C port, smart key, LCD; storage and price figures were not published on the retrieved page. The NMAX is the more completely documented premium package.
