The Grande is Yamaha Vietnam’s style flagship for the mainstream market: retro-round front, premium paint, and a feature list borrowed from bigger bikes. This review uses only what Yamaha’s official product pages state (retrieved 23 September 2026). Yamaha’s page does not publish engine power, torque or capacity figures for the current Grande, so those are left out rather than estimated - what is verified is the Blue Core Hybrid engine family, smart key, a phone charging port, Y-Connect app connectivity and a large 27-litre underseat compartment with a light.
Riding and handling
Verified figures: wet weight 100 kg, seat height around the class norm with dimensions 1,820 x 684 x 1,155 mm, ground clearance 127 mm - the lowest in its group, worth knowing on rough edges. Tyres are 110/70-12 front and rear (MAXXIS fitment), with a hydraulic front disc and rear drum brake and an LED front light. The smaller wheels and light weight make it one of the easiest scooters to thread through Old Quarter traffic.
Storage and features
The 27-litre bay with interior lighting is the practical headline - enough for a full-face helmet plus a bag, covered in our scooter storage comparison. Smart key operation is explained in our smart-key guide. Yamaha positions the Grande among its most fuel-efficient models; where manufacturer economy figures are published we compare them in our fuel economy comparison.
Who it suits
Riders who want a scooter that looks considered at the cafe as well as working in traffic - and who will pay for the styling. It is less of a cargo tool than the Honda Lead (see that comparison) and less sporty than the FreeGo, but the most design-led of the three. Yamaha lists the Grande from 46,244,000 VND.
Renting one
