Fuel is the biggest running cost of a Vietnamese scooter, and the manufacturer-published litres/100 km figures are the only ones we can state with certainty. This table ranks every figure recorded from official Honda and Yamaha Vietnam model pages (retrieved 23 September 2026, preserved in our model database). Models without a published figure are left out rather than estimated.

Range figures are the manufacturer’s own basis (tank divided by published consumption, or the manufacturer’s stated range); real-world range always varies with speed, load, temperature and traffic - our riding-habits guide covers what actually moves your consumption.
Reading the table honestly
- The top three are all small-capacity, light scooters - efficiency follows physics.
- Tank size matters as much as economy: the NMAX is mid-pack on L/100 km but tops the class for range per tank.
- The Honda Air Blade 125 and Yamaha Grande have no published economy figures on the pages we retrieved, so they are absent, not slow.
Who each end of the table suits
Daily commuters covering 20-40 km: anything in the top five repays you monthly. Touring riders: look at the range column instead - NMAX, SH160i, Lead. Delivery and high-usage riders: pair an efficient model with the maintenance habits in our high-usage guide.
Renting
Rental fuel is your cost during the rental period (our rental fuel policy article explains what to expect). The most efficient rental-category bikes are the price-published small automatics - Honda Vision and Honda Click (150,000 VND/day) - and Yamaha Mio. Contact us to confirm current availability.
