The Honda Vision is the best-selling scooter in Vietnam, and after a week in Hanoi traffic you will understand why: it is light, narrow, cheap to run and sized exactly for dense cities. This review uses only specifications published by Honda Vietnam on the official Vision model page (retrieved 23 September 2026), so every number below is manufacturer-verified - anything Honda does not publish is left out rather than estimated.

Engine and performance

The Vision runs a 109.5 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine from Honda’s eSP family, with electronic fuel injection (PGM-FI). Official figures: maximum power 6.59 kW at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque 9.29 Nm at 6,000 rpm. For city riding that torque figure matters more than the power figure - it is what pulls you away from lights and across intersections without drama. The Vision is not a bike for sustained high-speed riding, but it is well matched to urban speed limits, which our guide to motorbike speed limits in Vietnam covers.

Size, weight and comfort

Honda lists the kerb weight at 97 kg, seat height 785 mm, and dimensions 1,925 x 686 x 1,126 mm with a 1,277 mm wheelbase and 175 mm ground clearance. In practice: light enough to park on any kerb, a seat height most riders can flat-foot, and enough clearance for Hanoi’s speed bumps and broken edges. The front wheel is a large 16-inch item (tyre 80/90-16), which is one of the Vision’s defining features - covered in detail in our guide to 16-inch wheel scooters.

Fuel economy

Honda’s published consumption figure is 1.82 litres/100 km, from a 4.8-litre tank. Real-world consumption varies with load, traffic and riding style, but the Vision is consistently among the most economical scooters on Vietnamese roads - see our scooter fuel economy comparison for how it stacks up against rivals.

Practical features

The Vision’s LCD meter shows distance and fuel level, the always-on headlight improves visibility, and smart-key versions are available. Storage and everyday usability are scooter underseat storage comparisonseat storage comparison.

Who it suits

Commuters, students, first-time riders and anyone who mainly rides in the city. It is also the most common scooter category in rental fleets. If you are renting rather than buying, the published rate for the Vision at Nguyen Tu is 200,000 VND per day, 800,000-1,000,000 VND per week and 1,800,000-2,000,000 VND per month. What to check before you ride one

Tyre condition, brake feel and the rental checklist in our rental motorbike inspection guide. Licence rules in Vietnam depend on engine capacity - see our licence guides. The Vision is a safe default choice, but sit on one first: fit matters more than spec sheets.
