The Vision and the FreeGo are the two default answers to “which affordable automatic scooter should I buy in Vietnam?” - Honda’s 110 cc best-seller against Yamaha’s roomier 125. Figures below come from Honda and Yamaha Vietnam’s official pages (retrieved 23 September 2026).

Engine

Vision: 109.5 cc air-cooled eSP, 6.59 kW at 7,500 rpm, 9.29 Nm at 6,000 rpm, published 1.82 L/100 km. FreeGo: 124.9 cc Blue Core, 7.0 kW at 8,000 rpm, 9.0 Nm at 5,500 rpm, published 2.03 L/100 km. The FreeGo is stronger; the Vision is more frugal. Our 110 vs 125 guide explains what the capacity step means in practice.

Wheels and stability

This is the Vision’s signature: a 16-inch front wheel (80/90-16) that rides broken pavement better than anything small-wheeled - covered in our 16-inch wheel guide. The FreeGo runs 100/90-12 front and 110/90-12 rear tubeless tyres: more agile, less composed on potholes.

Weight and seat

Vision: 97 kg, seat 785 mm. FreeGo: 100 kg, seat 780 mm. Effectively tied - both light, both manageable for new riders (our verified weight table).

Storage and equipment

FreeGo: 25-litre underseat bay (a full-face helmet fits), smart key, USB port, LED headlight, and an ABS-equipped FreeGo S version. Vision: smaller bay, LCD meter, always-on headlight, smart-key versions. On equipment the FreeGo is the better buy; on refinement and resale the Vision has the reputation.

Price

Yamaha listed the FreeGo from about 30,340,000 VND; the Vision sits below it in Honda’s range and remains Vietnam’s default city scooter.

Verdict

Vision for economy, the big front wheel and bulletproof resale. FreeGo for storage, features and the extra 15 cc. Renters: the Vision is price-published at Nguyen Tu (200,000 VND/day; 800,000-1,000,000 VND/week; 1,800,000-2,000,000 VND/month); the FreeGo is not - contact us to confirm current availability. Whatever you choose, run the rental inspection checklist first.
