Underbones are workhorses, but the manufacturers publish surprisingly little built-in storage. Here is exactly what Honda’s pages promise (retrieved 23 September 2026) - and what riders actually do about the rest.
The verified built-in storage
Wave RSX: a U-box that holds one half helmet, with a 4-in-1 key system - the only storage-carrying commuter underbone in Honda’s published range. CT125: rack styling (published as styling, with no litre or kg rating stated). Everyone else - Wave Alpha, Blade, Future 125, Super Cub, Winner R, CBR150R - publishes no storage at all. Yamaha publishes none for the Sirius or Exciter either.
The aftermarket reality
Because the factories under-equip the class, Vietnam built an ecosystem: front baskets and racks (our basket guide covers scooter-fit equivalents), top boxes on rear racks, seat hooks and cargo nets - our cargo-net and top-box guides cover safe loading, which matters more than capacity. Delivery riders build their entire businesses on this aftermarket - our delivery guide covers the working setups.
The safety line
Underbone frames are light and the bikes narrow; heavy rear loads change handling measurably, and our luggage-carrying guide covers the low-and-central rule. Never bungee anything that can reach the rear wheel or exhaust.
Rental note
Rental underbones typically arrive with a hook or a rack at most - plan a backpack or ask about a top box; our luggage guides cover the options, and renters should confirm what the specific bike carries. The Wave class here is price-published at 150,000 VND/day - contact us to confirm current availability and storage fitments.
