Both work in Hanoi. The right choice depends on how far you are from the shop and how much you care about test-riding the exact bike.

Shop pickup: the inspect-first option

Collecting the bike yourself at 112 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Long Bien, means you stand next to the bike you are actually renting. You can inspect it properly - the checklist article lists the walk-around - test-ride it around the block, and swap it on the spot if something feels wrong. Deposit, contract and handover photos all happen face to face. If you are new to riding in Vietnam, pickup is worth the trip: the first ten minutes on a Vietnamese rental are easier when the shop is still in sight.

Delivery: the convenience option

Delivery to your hotel or address in Hanoi may be available depending on location and arrangement - it is agreed case by case, within opening hours (09:00-21:00 daily). There is no published fixed delivery fee; agree the cost with the shop when you book, not when the bike arrives. Delivery suits renters already settled somewhere far from the shop, or anyone on a tight schedule.

How delivery changes the handover

The inspection still happens - just at your door. Check lights, brakes, tyres and fuel before signing, and photograph existing scratches with the deliverer present. The deposit and contract travel with the bike. If the bike is not the model you agreed, refuse it then; after signing, the handover photos are the record.

Returns work both ways too

Return at the shop for the quickest deposit settlement, or arrange collection from your address the same way delivery was arranged. Same rule: agree it in advance.

The honest rule of thumb

Inside a few kilometres, pickup. Far away, short of time, or renting long-term, delivery. Either way, the checklist and the photos are what protect your deposit - the location only changes where you do them. Contact us to confirm current availability and arrange pickup or delivery for your dates.
