Booking is the easy part of renting in Hanoi. There are three routes and they all end the same way: you, a bike, a deposit, and a contract.

Messaging first: WhatsApp or Zalo

The standard route. +84 942 467 674 reaches Nguyen Tu on both WhatsApp and Zalo, and both work for foreign numbers. A booking conversation answers four things: the model you want, your dates, the price, and availability. Model stock genuinely changes week to week - a shop that has a Vision free today may not next Friday, so confirming dates in writing matters. Photos of the actual bike can be sent on the spot.

Phone

Calling works too, in Vietnamese or simple English. A call is fastest for a same-day rental; a message is better for anything in the future because it leaves a written record of the agreed price and dates.

Walk-in

Hanoi rentals sit all over the city - Nguyen Tu is at 112 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Bo De, Long Bien, open 09:00-21:00 daily. Walking in means seeing the actual bike, riding it around the block, and swapping it on the spot if the seat does not fit you or the brakes feel soft. The only cost of walking in is time, and during peak tourist season the bike you wanted may be gone.

What to settle in writing before you arrive

  • The exact model and its rate for your period (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • The deposit amount and how it is held and returned.
  • Whether you pick up at the shop or want delivery to your address - delivery in Hanoi may be available depending on location and arrangement, agreed case by case.
  • The return date, time and fuel convention.

What to do at handover whoever you booked with

The inspection checklist, photos of existing scratches, and the registration certificate in your hand. Booking secures the bike; the inspection secures your deposit.

For a one-off day rental, walking in is fine. For anything longer than a few days, message ahead and lock the model and dates in writing.
