Every Vietnamese motorbike page - Honda’s, Yamaha’s - presents the same fields, and every one of them hides a decision. Here is what each means for a real rider, with verified examples (retrieved 23 September 2026).

The fields that matter

Max power (kW at rpm): how hard the engine can ultimately pull. Note the rpm - a 9,500-rpm peak (Exciter 155) is a different animal from a 6,250-rpm peak (CT125). Our power and torque explainer covers the reading rules.

Max torque (Nm at rpm): the everyday number. Torque at low rpm - the CT125’s 10.9 Nm at 4,750 rpm - is what moves you and a passenger off the line. High-rpm torque - the Exciter’s 14.4 Nm at 8,000 rpm - is performance riding.

Transmission: rotary four-speed means no clutch lever (every semi-automatic here); manual clutch means learning a new skill. The full story is in our xe so vs xe con tay guide.

Kerb or wet weight: the bike ready to ride. Honda quotes kerb weight (Wave Alpha 96 kg); Yamaha quotes wet weight for the Sirius (100 kg) and Exciter (123 kg). Same idea - always compare against the same measure.

Seat height: the confidence number at every stop - verified range 756-800 mm (our seat height explainer has the full ladder).

Fuel tank times claimed economy: range. Multiply them - the Future’s 4.6 L at 1.47 L/100 km is the range champion; the CBR’s 12 L at 2.91 L/100 km is the touring champion. Remember: real-world consumption varies with speed, load and conditions, and claimed figures use the manufacturer’s test cycle.

Brakes and tyres: front disc versus drum matters most (single front brake does most of the work); tyre sizes like 70/90-17 are decoded in our tyre size guide.

List price: a dated manufacturer figure - not the on-the-road price.

The fields the manufacturers leave blank

Empty is information. Yamaha publishes no seat heights for the Sirius or Exciter; Honda publishes no fuel system for the Wave Alpha. A spec sheet that is silent on a field is telling you not to trust anyone who fills it in.

Using the sheet

Our underbone guides rank every model on exactly these fields. To test the numbers in person: our price-published daily classes are the Honda Wave and Yamaha Sirius at 150,000 VND - contact us to confirm current availability. Insurance is not included in rentals.
