Honda sells two distinct 125 cc automatics in Vietnam: the established Air Blade 125 and the newer Vario 125. Both are liquid-cooled CVT scooters, but Honda publishes very different amounts of data for them, so this comparison uses only what each official page states (retrieved 23 September 2026) and leaves the rest out.
Engine
Vario 125: 125 cc eSP engine with PGM-FI, idling stop, EURO 4 - official figures 8.48 kW at 8,500 rpm, 11.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm, published consumption 2.11 L/100 km from a 5.5-litre tank (about 260 km per tank under Honda’s stated normal conditions). Air Blade 125: 125 cc liquid-cooled engine - Honda’s 125 page does not publish separate power, torque or economy figures, so we do not state them either.
Brakes
Vario 125: front disc with CBS (combined braking). Air Blade 125: Honda’s published page emphasises the USB-C port and storage rather than brake equipment; neither 125 lists the front ABS that the 160s get. For the ABS landscape at this class, see our ABS availability guide.
Weight and size
Air Blade 125: 110 kg. Vario 125: 111 kg, seat 769 mm. One kilogram apart - both are easy middleweights for the class (our weight table).
Storage
Air Blade 125: 23.2 litres - two half-helmets - plus USB-C. Vario 125: 18 litres. The Air Blade is the storage pick; the Vario counters with published economy figures and idling-stop hardware (our idling-stop explainer covers how that behaves in traffic).
Price
Honda listed the Vario 125 from 41,913,818 VND; the Air Blade family starts at 42,404,727 VND. Effectively the same shelf price - which makes the storage difference and the published-data difference the real decision points.
Verdict
Air Blade 125 for the bigger bay and the established look; Vario 125 for the modern eSP package with published economy numbers. Renters: the Air Blade category is price-published at Nguyen Tu (200,000 VND/day, 800,000 VND/week, 1,400,000 VND/month); the Vario is not - contact us to confirm current availability.
