Nothing else on Honda Vietnam’s motorcycle list stretches as far as these two: the Wave Alpha 110 at 18,841,091 VND and the CBR150R at 72,290,000 VND. One is the definition of basic transport, the other a fully-faired mini-supersport. Verified Honda VN specifications below (retrieved 23 September 2026).
Power and gearbox
Wave Alpha: 109.2 cc air-cooled single, 6.12 kW, 8.44 Nm, four-speed rotary gearbox — you shift with your heel and toe, no clutch lever. CBR150R: 149.2 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single, 12.6 kW at 9,000 rpm, 14.4 Nm at 7,000 rpm, manual clutch. The CBR makes roughly double the power at far higher revs; it wants to be ridden hard, while the Wave Alpha is happiest at city speeds. If you have never used a clutch lever, our automatic-versus-manual guide is prerequisite reading for the CBR.
Practical numbers
Wave Alpha: 96 kg, 770 mm seat, 3.7-litre tank, 1.72 L/100 km claimed. CBR150R: 139 kg, 788 mm seat, 12-litre tank, 2.91 L/100 km claimed. The CBR’s huge tank and fairing suit long weekend rides; the Wave Alpha’s light weight and economy suit daily commuting and tight parking. Manufacturer figures both — real consumption varies.
What each is for
The Wave Alpha is one of the two price-published rental classes at Nguyen Tu (150,000 VND/day) because it covers what most visitors actually need: simple, cheap, city-capable transport. The CBR150R is a hobby machine — brilliant on open tarmac, pointless in a Long Bien alley.
