What stands out
The range honesty is refreshing: Dat Bike publishes both test speeds, so the 200 km claim (35 km/h) comes with its own 130 km reality check (70 km/h). Either way, a full charge covers a week of Hanoi commuting — or the brand’s own example trips, Hanoi to Ha Long included.
Fast charging reframes ownership: one hour of charging buys 100 km. The regen-braking throttle lets you ride entire avenues on the right hand, and the 6,000 W motor keeps up with petrol flow everywhere licence-free bikes cannot go.
Trade-offs
You need an A1 licence — this is a motorcycle in law, not a moped. The 120 kg kerb weight and 17-inch wheels make it an underbone-style ride, less step-through friendly than a scooter. Charging still takes hours without a Dat Charge station; there is no battery swapping.
Who it suits
Licensed riders who want motorcycle pace with moped running costs, long-distance commuters, and anyone whose week includes trips the licence-free class cannot reach. The Weaver++ adds power and water protection — see the comparison.
